Here is our Chicago.
This visit was our first, long overdue, and we realized how much we’ve been missing. The city was all dressed up in summer – hot, clean, and friendly.
Little grows in Florida this time of year (we enjoy local produce when the rest of the country is blanketed in snow), so we made going to farmers’ markets our hobby. Rows of multicolored beets, various berries, plump eggplants, and zebra tomatoes inspired us as much as the room full of Calder’s mobiles at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
We liked the Sunday market at Wicker Park. It was raining, but the crowd was enthusiastic, equipped with umbrellas, and ready to stock up on the beautiful produce. The Streeterville market on Tuesday was another favourite. The highlight there was a tent with all kinds of spectacular, locally grown flowers. The variety and fair price of the bouquets left us speechless and wanting a proper garden.
P.O.S.H. was one of the first on our list of places-to-go. It’s the most charming tableware shoppe that stocks vintage pieces from European and American hotels, flea market finds, and some new gift items. The set up inside is incredible, like a museum, but much more inviting. We spent hours browsing the selection and still had to come back a second time to have another look. They have an incredible childrens’ section (where we got Paloma’s nesting dolls), with wonderfully illustrated books, finger puppets, drawing supplies, and sippy cups galore. If you are ever in the area, give it a visit, you won’t regret it.
Other fond memories include an organic fingerling potato pizza with the thinnest crust on the planet, dipping our toes in Lake Michigan, finally getting to see pieces by Henry Darger, magnificent architecture, Bucktown, uncomplicated subway, Hendrickx Belgian bakery, and snacking on all the lovely produce after a long day of walking around, with blisters.
Thank you, Chicago.

Move over NYC, think it’s time for a revisit to the windy city. I felt like I just took a tour on the Travel Channel combined with a visit to the Food Network. You definitely brought out the best this charming city has to offer.

Beautiful capture! I go gaga everytime I see beautiful summer produce, and look at that golden raspberries! I’m this close in planning Chicago trip now just because of these pictures :)

What lovely pictures. Those raspberries are probably my favorite!

Larisa: Thank you!
Ricki: Thanks so much!
Leonardo: Thanks very much! Chicago is so different from New York, we found very few similarities. They’re both great in their own way.
HiHoRosie: Thank you, it’s a charming city, especially in the summer :)
Bertha: Thanks so much :) Feel the same way about produce, so inspiring!
sohdalex: Thanks for your comment!

Great tips, but one thing is very important.
Many members of Ebaby can write very well but have fear to speak.
The biggest problem most people face in learning a new language is their own fear. They worry that they won’t say things correctly or that they will look stupid so they don’t talk at all. Don’t do this. The fastest way to learn anything is to do it – again and again until you get it right. Like anything, learning English requiers practice. Don’t let a little fear stop you from getting what you want.

I kindly refer you to the fact that K2/G1 is not able to alter the game in any manner at all. All fixes come from the developers.

No idea. We have been kicking around the idea of physical merchandising for quite a while now and there’s still a big heap of Felankor T-shirts here at the office left over from E3. Personally, I think it’s a good idea and would like to see such products made available to players. Time will tell.

As I’m sure y’all have noticed, we’ve been getting some pretty good results and have had more fixes in recent months than we have in years. I find it unfortunate that it’s taken this long to get any major progress on the way, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers.

There is a lot speculation about rollbacks/coin wipes here on the forums, due to the recent bug, is this something we should be weary of or do you guys intend to resolve the problem in a different manner?

I mean, I know we already have International Tournament (against KOKO and JAPKO) and despite some lag problems WorldKO did great last year, but I think it would be fun to get an interserver or just server tournament between clans or players. Technically speaking, do you need some patch or brand new tools to achieve this or with the current tools (and some effort from players too) it can be done?

Highly unlikely to ever happen. While it might be convenient for some users, having Premiums that only decrease in hours based on active log-in time is a poor investment for a business. Money isn’t our main priority, but it is a priority nonetheless.

What about the less expensive stuff which are sold in sell merchant, like Raptor+8 and Hellbreaker+7. I imagine some of these also could be stolen, but as they are offered for the normale market price, how to know they are stolen?

Hopefully this would include banning people who have affiliated with these NPT cheaters (added them to their clan, or confirmed to originate from the same IP source, or some other criteria that I can’t fathom; but some set of players is sponsoring the NPT, and we need to stomp out the demand for them as well).

I haven’t released these yet for two reasons. First is that they’ll be temporarily out-dated in the near future as we’ve got more content coming with the Under the Castle expansion and other related additions to the game. I’ll need to add those in to keep the documentation accurate. Second is that, in its current form, the work is all very ugly. It’s in a raw data-dump state right now and is actually rather difficult to read. Any normal person not used to navigating spread sheets would look at the mess of numbers and just give up after a few seconds. I need to be able to present all the information in a manner that is actually coherent and functional, especially since this sort of thing would surely end up available for download on the official website as a PDF or such.

While I certainly believe there are willing individuals out in the community who could lend a hand, this sort of thing isn’t a task I want to delegate out to the open public. In order to actually make a volunteer useful, I’d have to give them access to a whole lot of sensitive information regarding the KOL item and monster indexes, which I am neither willing nor allowed to do. I suppose the most help the community could be in this sort of project would be offering suggestions as to what sort of functions they’d like an App to perform. Naturally, one of the key ones I was interested in developing was a Character Build guide where users could chart out their stat/skill/bonus allocation to optimize their character, or a Quest Tracker since a surprisingly small number of players seem to realize that such a function is already in the game…

On other cheat-related information, we’ve finally gotten the GM tool for character editing back online. As a result, we have immediately begun work on removing the NP of all characters who have been banned for NP Transferring since January 2009, and will also be forcibly removing them from their clans. Similarly, the database report that allows us to detect NP Transfers as they happen is now back online, as it had been briefly unavailable due to database maintenance recently.

me to skim through it and find suspicious accounts. For something like monitoring skill use, the data dump that would result would be immense and likely too huge to fully process, let alone reliably monitor to pick out possible offenders. We’re talking billions of lines of data every few minutes. That is a massive amount of information to try and wrangle in the first place, let alone filter down into a usable and accurate data report. Plus there’s still the base issue of actually having the time to build such a report in the first place as our tech group lead (the one responsible for all these nifty tools and reports) has his hands more than full all the time. I’ve been given access to the database and the tools necessary to build these reports myself, so I can tell you first hand that it is not a simple task.

So, my main topic for today:
In RLB, a decently equipped 8 man party with 2 or 3 priests, can stand in the middle of opposing nation’s base, unchallenged.
They will stand there for long minutes, killing anyone that accidentally zones in or dares to try and spawn to run for it.
This is basically wrong for the very same reasons as Nova Towning is.
Players have no chance whatsoever to react to that.
While the 8 man party feels high and mighty for being unopposed.
